Here's a little story. Last year I went to Torquay in Devon (South Coast of England) with my mum, and while we were there we visited a little village called Cockington. There's hardly anyone living in the village now, it's a tourist attraction. Almost all the buildings had thatched roofs and it was the prettiest little place. One of the things there was a manor house, which I don't think is inhabited anymore, but the rooms are used to sell things in. Anyway, Mum and I were walking in the grounds of the manor house, along the edge of a large green which was bordered by thick trees. I noticed a little stairway going into the trees. The steps were old and set right into the slope, with roots sticking out between and around them. It looked almost semi-hidden and secretive, like the kind of thing the Famous Five would find. Being that kind of fantasy-loving person, I just HAD to climb it. So I told Mum where I was going and went up. There were thick trees on either side, which I could see in between, and birds and things were moving in them. The noise of the kids and other people about dropped and it was quite quiet. Up and up and then when I came out at the top, right in front of me was the cottage in this picture. It was as though I'd stumbled upon Hansle and Grettle's cottage by accident. The whole experience was like something out of a children's fantasy movie. And to tell you the truth, I've never seen a cottage like this EXCEPT in children's fantasy movies.

That's such a lovely story! Ooooh I wish I could live in that cottage! It all sounds like a fairytale. You're lucky! Great photo! :cuddle:

Thanks! I wonder who does live in it.
